Buckinghamshire runs from the Chiltern Hills down into London commuter-belt countryside, and its pony scene reflects that mix — genuine rural riding culture in the Chilterns alongside the money and infrastructure that comes with being within easy reach of London. Pony Club and riding club branches are well established, and there is decent access to the wider south-east show circuit.
As with its neighbours, expect commuter-belt prices for grazing and livery, particularly toward the London end of the county near Amersham and Beaconsfield. The Chiltern Hills themselves offer attractive, if sometimes chalky and dry-in-summer, riding country, and hacking out through established bridleways is a genuine draw for buyers who want to actually ride out rather than just school in an arena. The area around Waddesdon and Aylesbury, further north, tends to be a little more rural and slightly kinder on price than the southern, London-facing half of the county.
