The land ranges from the Clwydian Hills, which produce hardier hill-bred ponies, down to gentler, more fertile ground near the Dee valley, which tends to suit better-grown Welsh sections and cobs. Because it draws buyers from both England and Wales, a genuinely good pony here does not sit around for long — decide quickly if you find one you like, and be ready to travel to view promptly.
